limenviolet's Podcast

the knitting podcast for the yarn obsessed

The Podcasts

We welcome a wonderous returning guest this week. Say hello to Eric everyone!

There really isn't much in knitting content this week, but oh dear the stories are quite interesting. There is clothing, boys, flashing postmen, a Plurk-planned wedding (who says you two need to meet? None of us said that), and sniffies and the Poe Club.

Music is "My Hair is Beautiful" by The Spoofinator. You should remember him from the "Princess Glow-Boob" episode, he did the spoof of Yellow that was used then. What can I say? I like parodies and spoofs.

So, go dance naked and knit (or spin), postmen everywhere seem to love it. At least that seems to be Miss.V's take on the world.

-cheers and happy knitting! .gg.

It's a shorter one this week, still over an hour, but not quite an hour and a half like most of the recent ones have been. But don't worry, it's still chalk full of randomness followed up by a bit of knitting.

There is yarn porn, and dog stories, and other stories, and some stuff about letter boxing, and omg MissV cleaned and got rid of stuff, including Wollmeise. *gasp* I know!

Music is "Let's All Pretend it's Christmas" by Dogs Must be Carried. And just so you know, from today (Nov 15) there are 39 days till Christmas. That means about 936 hours, and if you sleep about 7 hours a night, 663 awake hours, and if you work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, there are about 447 awake non-work hours left to knit your Christmas presents.

-Now that I've scared you all with the amount of time left to knit, Cheers and happy crafting! .gg.

Happy Halloween! I know it's a day late, but I was busy. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

We have a very special guest this week. She brought loads of Yarn Porn, and maybe a bit of the real stuff too. Suffice to say, this episode is NOT SAFE FOR LITTLE EARS. It also might not be safe in a place where laughter is not appropriate. I'm not talking little fits of giggles, I'm talking Gut Busting, Side Splitting, Fall on the Floor, Laugh Out Loud, Laughter. These girls are on a roll.

As a warning: Our special guest gets into some teary charity stuff about a really amazing sounding charity. So break out the tissues, but know that everything goes to great people, and comes from the most amazing charity knitters (all our love to you).

Music is "Halloween" by The Coffinshakers.

-Cheers and happy knitting! .gg.

Coming to you all from "The Big Room" from back in the beginning of time, er, podcast, I meant podcast.

Carin only lies once, I think, I don't know, maybe she's a master liar so good that we never know when she's actually telling the truth or not. But Darling Miss V called her a liar, so I guess she is.

There is yarn porn and a thank yous, the contest results (congrats btw), and a couple times when they top out the mic, so it sounds kinda funky. But hey, we're knitters, we like funk don't we?

Music is "I'm Single" by Deirdre Flint. You might remember her from back in Episode 20, she stole Lime's boyfriend. Apparently it didn't work because now, she's single!

-Cheers and happy poly-crafting! .gg.

Back by Popular demand! It's the Lime!

Unfortunately, she didn't bring a bottle of wine this time so there's no drunken Violet. Lime has survived life, and the girls talk about nearly everything under the sun.

WARNING: Please, for the safety of all parties involved, take your credit cards and throw them in the freezer right now. This could possibly be the most expensive but oh so lovely episode in and for a while. Hopefully.

Music is "Pirates Unite" by Oh La La! in honor of SSH playing the Pirate Festival. And because I think putting a pirate theme to Caribbean music is just hilarious. Or that might be the lack of sleep talking.

There are pants, and floofy shirts, but no floofy pants this time.

More of the same as always (what more do you want?!), tangents, thank yous, yarn porn, on the needles (btw, both of the girls have finished their Nottingham sweaters and are going to have a sewing party this weekend), and many other hilarious random stories.

Music is "Pitcher of Beer" by The New Autonomous Folksingers.

The girls are here this time, no boys. That might be why our darling Miss Violet has turned into a Girly Girl.

Thank Yous turn in to Yarn Porn, Yarn Porn turns into Tangents, and Tangents turned in to 8 minutes of Violet defending her Cheese Making book. It's not in the podcast, but I shall be holding it as blackmail against Violet if they ever skip a week.

Or you know, if enough people ask. :D

Music is by Marc Gunn called "When the Dairy Farm Caught Fire". I do believe that Marc Gunn has been featured in previous episodes. He also has a couple Firefly songs.

-Cheers and happy knitting!

Guess who we've got this week?!?

Cables and Lace's own KnittingDragon (aka. Eric (aka. The Best Dude EVAR)) popped by this weekend and Miss V was able to record a hefty episode with him. Much in the way of thank yous, which are starting to turn into Yarn Porn on their own. Thank yous, Yarn Porn, Sexy Radio Announcer Voices (*rawr*), peeing dogs, a pesky fly, and much laughage.

Music is "Starbucks" by Scooda Red. You can blame me if it's stuck in your head, cause it's going to be burned in mine and ADONIS's brains for freaking ever.

Miss V is a Frog Whisperer, not once, but twice. Oh, and Carin has boobies. Or so I'm told.

Dangerous Yarn Porn, Cheesy on the Outside (the man formerly known as SG) update, Thanks yous, books, and ZOMG Wollmeise news!

Music is "Weighty Ghost" by Wintersleep, another local group.

It's really not what you think. Unless you have an innocent mind, in which case, why do you listen to these girls?

There is catchup, and yarn porn, and knitting porn, and I don't really remember what else. They work me too hard... kidding!

Music is "City of Lakes" by Matt Mays. A good Nova Scotian guy, check out his music!

OMG, people.

Lime's back for a catch-up on the last year of her life, and she brought wine.

A lot of wine.

Which we drank.

And Violet?  Can't drink well.

Two hours of Lime and slobbering Violet.

Forgive me.

Regular show with Carin coming as soon as Producer Gwen gets it done.  Maybe it'll knock this one out of iTunes.  *cringe*.

So what do you get when you put these two in front of a microphone this week? Apparently you get tangents, and no we're not doing some fun form of Calculus. That's next week's episode, when we let MissV drink and derive. This week, my knitting and crafting friends, entails many, MANY stories. Some good yarn porn, some wonderful thank yous, and even more stories!

Oh, and smile, it keeps the gag reflexes at bay. I'm just warning ya.

Music is "Story of a Boy" by 2012.

SG update right up front. Also, a bit more information from MissV and SSH (who's in floofy pants, bytheby) than we might have really wanted, but dude, seriously. OMG!

Great yarn porn, wonderful thank-yous, and as always many many laughs at the expenses of others. But we love you, all of you, laughter is just how we show it. :)

Music is "Security Girl" by Joe Shade, and don't blame me if it's stuck in your head like it's stuck in mine. Blame Carin for finding a Security Guard to swoon and blush over.

Oh these girls are lucky that I like them. They get loud. For good reasons too. Just as a fore note, hide your credit cards. NOW. I bought something while editing, and I think V might have bought something before they even finished recording. Many thanks to many people.

Music is "Claw Your Sweater" by Love is Chemicals.

Oh yes, and the Crotch Moth(tm) makes an appearance. You just have to wait for it. ;)

Enough already! It's here. The usual this week with a HUGE dose of SG update. Great yarn porn (take your credit cards to the freezer NOW), thank yous (we love you all!), and some mutant insects (with a fascination for crotches).

Beware, they talk about Wrapped in Care again. Make sure the tissues are handy, but V does give a bit of a warning.

Music is "Helmethead" by Great Big Sea. (They're from Newfoundland, Canada! Check them out, they're amazing. (And record where I did my labs for college!))

Happy 4th of July!

There is much yarngasmicly good yarn porn, and many many thank you's. V is speechless (again), pinching nipples, and on the floor, Carin is done a few things, a converted fraker, and needs lipstick. Pink or red?

Music is "Yellowplay" by The Spoofinator, picked by me for our darling Miss V.

Also, our typical banter, yarn peddling, and gushing, because THAT IS WHAT WE DO.

Music, picked by Producer Gwen, is "I will Knit For You" by Wren Ross.

Carin's home from Estes Park, and along with her recount of the event, she shares a little tidbit of information that leaves V speechless.

Miss V is suffering from bronchitis.  Thus, she's leaving the show notes to AdminKit this week, since her brain is kinda squirmy and a little bit squishy.

There is yarn, a tornado warning, and giggling this week, though.  So it's pretty typical. :)

Next week: A report from Estes Park, where Carin is dancing the night away with many sheep!

Show notes forthcoming, but suffice it to say that the girls, once again, are able to yap at you for an hour and a half about just about nothing.  Yarn is involved, a nice weekend with yarngirls, and Violet's crazy-ass dog decides that only red food is worth eating.  And there are books.  Really, really good books.

Music was picked by Executive Producer Gwen, so when she lets us know what it is, we'll let you know, too. :)

V's sick.  The cobd in her dose id fairly evidendt, but the Power of DayQuil saves the day.

The girls chatter about the set-up job V tried to pull on Carin when she wasn't looking (and netted her a goth boy in vinyl pants), a whole lot of cheesecake, and growing your own buttfloss.

Oh, and there's knitting, too.  And yarn.  Seriously.

Full show notes coming soon!

Just wait 'til you hear what's in Violet's...

Song is by Smallfish, "Lemonade", since it's snowing here AGAIN and we could use some thoughts of citrusy warm goodness.  Stupid snow.

We talk about llamas and dog heads and yarn and play matchmaker.  And squee a lot about books, because we do that.  Violet makes a swatch; Carin casts on verboten socks.

Full show notes coming soon!  (As in, when it's not 4:30 a.m. and V hasn't been up for almost a day.)

New episode!

Christmas presents are received, we say a lot of thank yous, and then there are not ONE, but TWO boob stories.  (I hadn't realized that until the re-listen.  One would think we're obsessed, eh?)

Music is by the FUMP, and is called "Creative Commons Anthem".

Back next week!  Thank you to our most awesome sound goddess for getting our nonsense edited into some semblance of coherence, and Dave of Chub Creek for the awesome intro.

After a long, and knitful holiday, the girls are back with a show recorded just before Christmas.

We're sneaky that way, see.

In this episode:  Four rules for dating the misses, a lot of holiday sticking, and a scintillating discussion about world economics.  Or at least two of those.

We also yap about the results of Lime's home visit by the ghosthunters, and talk about why V will never, ever be mistaken for a cowgirl.

We revisit some of the highpoints in the L&V journey (and a few lowpoints -- I mean, eeeegh....hairy moley man....), too.

Music is by Worm Quartet, and is called "Hair on my Soap", which is probably funny only to us, given that that's one of the reasons Turtleboy gave for breaking up with Miss Lime.  No, seriously.  Only that was a hair from her *head*, while she was IN THE SHOWER WITH HIM.  (Insert eye-roll from V here...)  Red flags abound.

Post forthcoming for those of you not on Ravelry yet with a picture of the famed Sexy Turkey Hat (which, by the way, YES, the FIL WORE TO CHURCH.  V's going to get a cramp in her eyes from all the rolling they're doing tonight.).

Thank you for a wonderful fifty episodes, folks.  We wouldn't have done it without you.

The Limeybirds, "Christmas Song" and "Charity's Wish"
Don't Hug Me, "Christmas Cheese Polka"
Tom Smith, "A Pirate Christmas"
Rad Dudes, "Christmas in Malibu"
The High Balls, "A Fistful of We Three Kings"
Santa Claus (no, seriously), "Sick of Christmas"
The Alice Project, "Regifting"
Cookie Cutter Girl, "Ham for the Holidays"
Gary Sundblad, "Ya You Betcha"
Bubble, "Christmas Here on Mars"
Robert Lund, "Nothin' But Spam"
and the mammoth one,
The Great Luke Ski, "Fanboy Christmas II: The Wrath of Claus"

Happy knitting, and happiest of holidays. :)

(p.s.  I couldn't find ANY good hannukah songs.  I tried.  They were either too dirty for even OUR delicate sensibilities, or...well...they kinda sucked.  Sorry, y'all who are knitting for the festival of lights rather than the big birthday.)

With the addition of the lovely GoddessGwen the SoundChick to our staff of <s>minions</s>...er...<I>valued employees</I>, another episode of L&V is ready for your download.  It was SUPPOSED to be a mini-episode to tide y'all over until the Big Fiftieth Episode, but V got yappy.  She does that.

Carin's back, and we chat about letterboxing, Pink Commandos and Drag Queens, and answer the burning question of whether or not Ninja Bunnies' shuriken smell like carrots.  We show off some socky goodness on ebay and bust some teenagers gettin' bizzeee in a parking lot, and offer some holiday cheer by rayko/KRB entitled "The 12 Strippers of Christmas" just for your holiday pleasure.  No pun intended.

Our big 50th episode with Lime will be up next week.  Thank you all for sticking with our own particular brand of Crazy for this long.  We loves you.

Aaaaand, we're back!

This time, Lime talks about what she's knitting (Violet skips hers since this episode was recorded literally one day after the last episode, making it pretty much a moot knitting point to discuss the same thing as the day before.), the girls yap about fiber, and magic buttons.  Violet shares the meaning of true love, involving clippers, and Lime shares her haunted mansion.

We'll have links to the two books we review when the show notes go live, too. (<span style="font-style:italic;">The Best of Interweave Knits</span> and <span style="font-style:italic;">Folk Bags</span>, if you're wanting to find them sooner.)

We'll be back next week with Carin in the copilot's seat, and *hopefully* back on a semi-weekly schedule after the holidays.  (Violet is knitting as fast as she can, after deciding to handmake a few gifts, and you all understand about the Crazy that IS holiday knittin'.)

Song is by our favorites, Possible Oscar, and is called "This is how we recycle".  Sorry in advance for getting it stuck in your head.  Again.
